The Glossary

Page history last edited by Fortune St. Keyne 9 years, 9 months ago

Sometimes it seems like we speak our own language, we do. So here is a primer on the more common terms and their meanings.

Organizational Household Terms:

Hansetag: Household Work Day

Tagfahrt: Household Meeting

Alterdame/n: The Five oldest household members: Elinor/Agricola, Syele, Simona, Fortune, and Lysken

Envoy: The next most-responsible level of household

Abecedarian: The newer members of the household

Common Household Terms:

The most important word: F'nah - (Pronounced: f'nAH!) Yeah... it's a context thing.

Beef Bourgault - Birka food for our first few years, it's like beef bourguignon, but in a crock pot.

Cake P'Cakes - Pancakes made with cake mix. Omnom cake p'cakes.

Compliment Fights - Shouting compliments at each other. YOU'RE PRETTY.

Eggy Toast - a near ideal breakfast food.

Damnit - Hook on which you can put a lantern at near-perfect height in your tent.... for you to bash your head on.

FaceFace - Simona

Floofen - the black furry thing Simona wears

F**k - Louise Woodward

Jammy Cow - C'mon, it's self-evident.

Louise Woodward - an aid to swearing. This came about from a Trivial Pursuit game where Fortune chanted a

swear word until the answer came to her. About 2 minutes of chanting occured.

Not a Bomb or Mitch Ablom - Our first first aid kit was housed in a metal ammunition box. And due to an incident

with Fortune and a label-maker, had labels stating it was neither a bomb, or Mitch Ablom.

Piton - The little pointy thing.

Roller Skates - Nobody pees until Pennsic!

Tell Me About The Bees - Don't ask Bridget, she wasn't there.

Unhappy Pasta - you'll love it.

Valid Emotions - it's ok to be mad, but we're pretty sure you just have low blood sugar Tho.
